Orthodontics
Orthodontics is the stomatological branch dealing with the correction of teeth and jaw positioning. The results demonstrate that approx. 90 per cent of children have some form of malocclusion (i.e. faulty contact between the upper and lower teeth when the jaw is closed). It is important to diagnose it on time. Even if most patients are school-aged children, people of all ages may benefit from orthodontic services. Before starting the therapy, it is necessary to repair all damaged teeth and ensure the highest possible degree of oral hygiene.
Those patients who have either milk or permanent teeth might use mobile prosthesis, while only those who have the permanent teeth may use fixed prosthesis.
The orthodontic therapy might be also used for other purposes, such as preparing the oral cavity for the insertion of dentures.
All these services mentioned above, including the making of splints, are available at our Polyclinic.
